Page 136 (of 139): The revised guidance on Mask “EXCEPTIONS” (this is a change in language from last years’ EXEMPTIONS)… I can say from my own experience last year that having a signed note from a medical provider is not ‘sufficient’ and it is likely the district will request to speak to the medical provider for additional information.

The other concerning development here is that religious reason requires “a letter from religious leader or clergy.”

My question is why? And you need to be asking how?

The district will likely point back to the criteria in the photo above – criteria they defined themselves regarding masking status – to address the WHY. And below is what they are counting on to defend HOW they are able to violate our parental rights, and those of our children:

In laymans’ terms, the West Chester Area School District is declaring itself as an institution that has the right to “act in the best interests of the students as they see fit“. So this starts with masks… what comes next?

In terms of precedence there is no greater example than Pennsylvania Code 23.84 regarding Immunization.

To be clear – this is not a commentary for or against vaccination – and is only an examination of current PA law and the precedence it sets for any and all medical procedures or devices being mandated for children in Pennsylvania. Because the law matters and we need to make sure it is being followed.

Because today – right now – in the state of Pennsylvania a “parent, guardian or emancipated child” can object “in writing to the immunization on religious grounds or on the basis of strong moral or ethical conviction similar to religious belief” but the West Chester Area School District is saying that law does not apply to masks.

Being used as a medical device. On our children.

This is why choice matters. This is why representation matters. This is why your vote matters. Do your research. There are only two candidates for WCASD School Director who believe in protecting the rights of parents and children, and I am one of them.
